Swati Sardesai
Born and raised in Mumbai, I double-majored in Photography and Communication Arts at Mumbai University. I’ve worked at multinational advertising and design firms as an art director.
As a designer and an education professional, I think it is important to stay in touch with the latest design thought and technology and I devote a considerable amount of time on it. My five years of extensive art education have instilled a lifelong passion for watercolors, photography and calligraphy. This generated attention from a few award shows. My paintings were awarded at National Juried Watercolor Exhibition, Spokane, WA by Winsor & Newton Watercolors. Few of the painting were part of the HCC Faculty Talent Exhibition in January 2017 and 18.
I balanced my day job with personal creative work. This allowed me to work on other cool projects, from emerging brands to current events. Currently I split my time between teaching at HCC and working on my design projects. Thanks to a scholarship from ‘Glassel Studio School- Museum of Fine Arts, I am taking advance watercolor color classes at the new, wonderful museum building.
My creative approach—no matter the medium—is to make the connection between viewers and design. Teaching at HCC has opened the doors for the most fulfilling experience to meet people with different backgrounds and share creative ideas.
